My first time out of the United States was to visit my parents birth country of Iraq.
When I was 5 years old my family travelled to Iraq. Since I was 5, I remember mostly nothing, so this blog is going to be made up disjointed memories my mother told me. When I go visit her next she promised she would let me take the album with all the photos from this trip and digitize them, so come back after the new year to see pictures.
We spent roughly two months in the city of Baghdad.
Our time in Baghdad was mostly spent with relatives at their houses.
We also visited some parks, and went to the zoo while in Baghdad.
Of course we ate delicious food while we were there, like Leblebe, kabob, and cream chop.
In the time we were in Iraq we also took some trips outside of the city.
We spent a few days at Lake Habania. While there we got to ride a boat.
We also spent a week up north near the town of Mosul and Duhok. In the north the nature is untouched with landscapes such as valleys, waterfalls, mountains, fruit bearing trees like fig trees. One notable site we visited while there is Anishka Cave.
I find this blog very interesting because it is the only one where I am learning what I did all that time ago for the first time. Thank you for reading my story, and as always Saif Travels!
